Valencia Colleges Produces 31 New Criminologists; Toyhorada Earns Regional Commendation

           Valencia City, Bukidnon — Valencia Colleges (Bukidnon), Inc., through its College of Criminal Justice Education, celebrates a significant milestone as 31 of its graduates successfully passed the February 2026 Criminologist Licensure Examination, achieving a 60.78% passing rate.

          Leading the recognition is Fretce Daguimol Toyhorada, who was named among the special commendation awardees in the region, highlighting her outstanding performance and dedication, and garnered 89.30% passing rate. Her achievement brings pride not only to the institution but also to the entire Bukidnon academic community.

          In her testimony, Toyhorada shared that her journey was marked by discipline, faith, and perseverance. Despite struggles with focus, self-doubt, and moments of wanting to give up, she emphasized that balancing prayer with consistent effort was key to her success. “To all aspiring Registered Criminologist: prayer and effort are an important balance. I didn’t rely on prayer alone—I made sure to discipline myself, study consistently, and to give my best every single day. To my dear juniors and future criminologist: focus on your foundation, master the basic concepts and make sure to attend your classes. Success in the board exam is not about being the smartest—it’s about being the most consistent and determined. If I did it, you can too.,” she said, encouraging future criminologists to stay grounded in their goals.

          Another passer also shared a powerful testimony, emphasizing resilience during the review period is Mr. Ricky Braga, who garnered a passing rate of 88.85%. Mr. Braga recounted experiencing pressure and exhaustion but overcame these through strong family support and a clear sense of purpose. “In reaching our dream of becoming Registered Criminologists, encountering challenges is inevitable. There will be times when you will doubt your capabilities because of emotional, physical, or mental struggles. The important thing is to never lose hope, keep moving forward, and pray. Entrust all your hard work to the Lord, for your family and your future. If you truly work hard, you can definitely become a Registered Criminologist. Keep fighting.,” he said.

          The success of the 31 new criminologists reflects Valencia Colleges’ continued commitment to academic excellence and student support. The institution reaffirmed its mission of producing competent, disciplined, and service-oriented professionals ready to serve the community.
